Built in 1991, this handsome ship is the latest
and most modern of the German-built cruise
ships.
The Litvinov is the only ship in Russia with
cabins on the Sun (top) Deck. She has two
restaurants, allowing one seating dining. All
cabins are outside, spacious, with many
amenities, including a large picture window,
refrigerator, and private bathroom with shower.
The Litvinov was completely refurbished in 2002.
The ship is provisioned with Western-style
amenities, and the crew and experienced Cruise
Director are trained to cater to the needs of
American travelers. You'll appreciate the
convenience of English language only, onboard
and during shore excursions. The Litvinov is
non-smoking, except for the Sun Deck and outside
walkwaysTechnical Data

Single-Seating
Restaurants
Two elegant restaurants onboard allow
for one seating for all meals (most other
ships have two seatings), which is a major
advantage, especially with shore excursions.
The Volga Restaurant on the Upper Deck seats
160 guests. The more intimate Neva
Restaurant on the Boat Deck seats 66.
Restaurants are lined with panoramic
windows, so you can dine with a view.
Breakfast and lunch are open seating, so you
can change your dining companions each day
as you meet new friends, or join the same
group time after time. The choice is yours.
Dinner is a sit down affair with the choice
of main entrées. Food is adjusted to the
tastes of American travelers (less fat, less
salt, etc.).
All meals are in one seating, a great
advantage over other ships in Russia,
especially in view of the busy sightseeing
program. Early riser’s coffee is provided
each morning. Coffee or tea is included with
every meal.
Public Lounges and Bars
The Rachmaninov Lounge on the Sun Deck
has a bar and dance floor, and is also used
for lectures and shows. The Kremlin Bar is
another pleasant place to enjoy a drink with
friends. Also visit the Ladoga Lounge and
reading room.
Spacious Sun Deck
Take in the views from the spacious Sun
Deck. You'll travel from Moscow to St.
Petersburg on the Waterways of the Czars,
the scenic rivers, canals and lakes which
connect Russia’s two imperial capitals. Sail
along the same routes in style and comfort
the Czars themselves would have envied.
You don't have to spend valuable time
packing and unpacking at each new
destination. You see so much more local
scenery and culture, on both sides of your
ship, than on a large ocean-going cruise
ship. Discover what makes river cruising in
Russia so memorable.
The festive Sun Deck has ample deckchairs.
All ships are non-smoking, except for the
Sun Deck and outside walkways. You will not
find this feature on other Russia river
cruise ships.
Other Amenities & Non-Smoking
Other amenities onboard include a beauty
salon, sauna, and souvenir shop.
A Russian medical doctor is onboard and the
ships are equipped with emergency tanks of
oxygen.
All ships are non-smoking, except for the
Sun Deck and outside walkways. You will not
find this feature on other Russia river
cruise ships.
Entertainment and Activities
Entertainment and activities include
nightly live music, concerts and folklore
shows, and various activities such as
Russian language lessons.
Guaranteed Share for Singles
If you travel alone and do not mind
sharing a cabin, offers guaranteed cabin
shares in select categories on all our
cruises. If we don’t find a match, you will
get single occupancy at no extra charge.
Please note, we cannot offer guaranteed
share in hotels on optional land extensions.
Cruise Directors, Lecturers & Staff
In addition to the friendly ship’s crew,
you will also be in the capable hands of an
experienced Cruise Director, a seasoned
professional with intimate knowledge of
Russia and the intricacies of traveling
through Russia. He or she manages onboard
guides, who are English-speaking Russians.
Typically, we have 6 to 8 guides aboard –
roughly one per 30 guests.
Usually a professor from one of Russia’s
leading universities is on each cruise. He
or she conducts a series of lectures on
Russia’s history, culture and economy.
Having our own staff in Russia enables us to
manage the quality of our tours and cruises
through Russia much better than other travel
companies that do not have this advantage.
