Itinerary

Day 1 - Moscow / Embarkation
Arrive Moscow and embark the MS Kronstadt, berthed in the city’s lively river port. Enjoy a welcome cocktail, briefing and dinner onboard.

Day 2 - Moscow
This morning’s sightseeing showcases the iconic monuments of the Russian capital including Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, venture onto the city’s famed Metro with your guide and stroll along bustling Arbat Street. An optional Moscow Circus performance is available this evening. Meals B,L,D

Day 3 - Moscow / Cruising
Explore the grounds of the Kremlin, seat of Russian power for centuries – including the beautiful Kremlin Cathedrals and the Armory Museum with its priceless collection of Imperial Russian treasures: gilded carriages, thrones and Faberge eggs. Return to ship and enjoy a drink on deck as you set sail on the Volga. Meals B,L,D

Day 4 - Uglich
Step into the pages of history in Uglich, Russia’s second oldest city where the Russian crown prince Dimitri, son of Ivan the Terrible, was assassinated. Your walking tour includes the Church of St. Demitrius of the Blood – built on the spot of his murder – and other splendid examples of Russian Orthodox architecture. Back on board, enjoy a stellar performance by one of Russia’s most famous violinists. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Yaroslavl
Founded in the 11th century, this Golden Ring city is one of the oldest in Russia. You’ll visit the main square, Governor’s Palace and Church of Elijah the Prophet, which houses the famous Yaroslavl and Kostroma frescoes. This evening, your waiters dressed in colorful national costumes will serve a traditional Russian Dinner, accompanied by lively folk music. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Goritzy
Enjoy a guided stroll through this charming village and visit with a local resident who will welcome you to her home with homemade cakes and tea. As the ship continues her voyage, you’ll enjoy caviar and champagne served with blinis, traditional delicate buckwheat crepes. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Kizhi Island
Here on this scenic island in Lake Onega, an amazing open-air museum presents rural Russian architecture – traditional wooden houses, windmills and churches. You’ll be especially awed by the Church of Transfiguration, hand-built with chisels and axes and featuring 22 graceful cupolas. This evening, enjoy a wonderful show of rousing Russian music and dance, performed by the ship’s own folkloric group. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Mondraga
Enjoy a morning onboard with entertainment and lectures. In the afternoon, a walking tour of Mondraga’s village includes a delightful picnic of Russian “shashlik” barbecue, accompanied by wine and music. Then visit the Vodka Museum before returning to ship for this evening’s gala Captain’s Farewell Dinner. Meals B,L,D

Day 9 - St. Petersburg
Your ship arrives this morning in the glorious city founded by Peter the Great in 1703. With 42 islands set amidst 65 rivers and canals that flow through town, St. Petersburg is one of the loveliest cities in the world. Your morning city tour will guide you along Nevsky Prospect past St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Admiralty Building to the enchanting Palace Square and Winter Palace. After lunch, you’ll tour the Hermitage and its awe-inspiring collection of great art through the ages. Back on board, you may purchase tickets for an evening cultural performance in the city. Day 10 - St. Petersburg
Travel to Pushkin, the former village of Russian royalty, and visit the gorgeous Catherine Palace, renowned for its Amber Room – lovingly restored following World War II. Then continue to Petrodvorets on the shores of the Baltic Sea to stroll the famous gardens and see the golden fountains of Peter the Great’s fabulous summer home. Renowned as the “Versailles of Russia”, it is a magnificent display of grand statues, splendid landscaping and playful fountains powered only by the force of gravity. This evening, you may purchase tickets for a boisterous Cossack Folk Show, featuring more than 40 dancers and musicians. Meals B,L,D

Day 11 - St. Petersburg / Disembarkation
