Start your Jordan journey in the kingdom’s capital, the city of Amman. Travel north to discover the treasures of Jerash, also known as the “Pompeii of the Middle East.”

The most exciting part of your stay in Jordan will undoubtedly be your first glimpse of the lost city of Petra, hewn from rose-colored sandstone. And this year you have another reason to add Jordan to your list of destinations. On July 7, 2007, the new Seven Wonders of the World were announced. Over 100 million people in 200 countries voted, and Petra – the Red Rose City – was nominated and won as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll walk through the narrow, three-quarter mile desert canyon known as the “siq.” Then majestically appearing before you, gaze upon the legendary Khazneh, the Treasury.

Continue along the King’s Highway, where you’ll see a 6th-century mosaic, the only surviving map of the ancient Holy Lands, in Madaba, and then visit Mount Nebo, where Moses sighted the Holy Land.
