An opportunity to explore the
Nile in depth, with stops at rarely visited
sites from the comfort of the boutique-style
'Sun Boat III.' The best way to ensure that
travelers enjoy the finest cruise experience on
the Nile is to design, build and sail your own
fleet of Nile ships - and that's just what
Abercrombie & Kent has done. Of the more than
200 cruisers now sailing the Nile, none surpass,
in comfort, service or cuisine, A&K's own 'Sun
Boat III.'
Born to sail the Nile
We began with a simple idea: to create
spacious, technologically up-to-date and
safety-conscious ships designed expressly for
Nile cruising. No retrofits or renovations in
our fleet: The A&K ships were born to sail the
sunny Nile. 'Sun Boat III' has large, inviting
lounges lined with windows so you can sightsee
as you relax over a cool drink or a game of
backgammon. On spacious sun decks atop each
cruiser, comfortable lounge chairs surround
plunge pools, perfect for a refreshing dip under
brilliant Egyptian skies. Exclusive A&K docking
facilities at Luxor and Aswan ensure that our
ships are always conveniently located and easy
to board.
In touch on holiday
We make the most of modern technology to
help you keep in touch with the world outside
the Nile Valley. A&K's Nile fleet has on-board
Internet access, satellite television
connections, and daily deliveries of
international newspapers.
Relax!
It's our policy to ensure that all travelers
on board a Nile cruise enjoy their stay in peace
and comfort. Mobile phone use is not allowed on
board, and smoking is permitted only in
designated areas of the outer deck. |

Pyramids of Mycerinus, Chefren and the Great
Pyramid of Cheops, the only survivor of the

funerary boat of King Cheops, hailed as the
single most important archaeological find in
Egypt since the tomb of Tutankhamun. Just to the
east is the legendary Sphinx. Lunch today is at
the Mena House Oberoi in the shadow of the
Pyramids. This evening A&K hosts a welcome
dinner. Four Seasons Hotel B L D

kind in the world, includes the golden treasures
of Tutankhamun's tomb as well as the royal
remains on display in the fascinating Mummy
Room. Later, visit Memphis, the ancient capital
of Egypt and the necropolis of Sakkara, to see
the world-famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser.
Four Seasons Hotel B L
DAY 5: Cairo/Abu Simbel/Aswan
Fly to Abu Simbel and visit one of the most
recognizable landmarks of Egypt, the two
magnificent temples of Egypt's longest-ruling
pharaoh, Ramses II, before flying on to Aswan.
Board 'Sun Boat III' in time for lunch, then
sail around the Aswan islands in a felucca
(weather permitting). MS 'Sun Boat III' B L D
DAY 6: Aswan

counterpart to Egypt's monumental constructions
of the past - before a short motorboat ride to
the romantic, majestic Philae Temple on the
Island of Agilika. Lunch is served aboard 'Sun

Karnak. MS 'Sun Boat III' B L D
DAY 9: Luxor
Today visit the Valley of the Kings, where
magnificent tombs were carved into the desert
rocks and filled with treasures for the
afterlife by generations of pharaohs. The
highlight of your trip is an exclusive visit to
the breathtaking - and closed to the public -
tomb of Queen Nefertari in the Valley of the
Queens, with its vivid colors that have survived
for thousands of years. Continue on to the
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (ancient Egypt's
first female pharaoh) and stop by the famous
Colossi of Memnon, known in ancient Greek times
for their haunting voices at dawn. After lunch,
discover the complex Temple of Karnak, built by
generations of pharaohs over a thousand-year
period. Later this afternoon accompany your chef
to the local souk (market) in Luxor, and help
select the ingredients for one of his special
recipes. Return to 'Sun Boat III' for a private
demonstration of how to prepare this dish, then
enjoy the results.
MS 'Sun Boat III' B L D
DAY 10: Luxor/Abydos/Denderah
Leave the beaten path for a cruise northward
to Nagaa Hammadi on a scenic route away from the
crowds and other cruise ships. Along the way,
your Egyptologist shares numerous insights about
life in modern Egypt. Visit Abydos, the center
of a holy city dedicated to Osiris, Lord of the
Netherworld, and the burial place for
pre-dynastic kings and pharaohs dating back to
the fourth millennium BC. Overnight in Qena. MS

Amenhotep III and finished by Egypt's most
renowned pharaoh, Ramses II. MS 'Sun Boat III' B

Persians around the sixth century BC; the Church
of St. Sergius, where the holy family is
reported to have stayed; and the Hanging Church,
the seat of the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate for
centuries. Finish your tour at Egypt's oldest
synagogue, Ben Ezra. Inside this temple, the
Cairo Geniza documents were found, a treasure
hailed as an unparalleled source of information
about the life of the Jews in Egypt's past. Dine
in your choice of restaurants carefully selected
by A&K. Four Seasons Hotel B D

Ali. Later, a walking tour of Islamic Cairo
takes you from one of the remaining gates of the
city, Bab El Fotouh, to Khan El Khalili Bazaar
for a traditional lunch at the Arabian style
