European Jewels 16 days - Budapest to Amsterdam

Follow in the footsteps of the adventures of days gone by
Embark on a history-steeped European journey taking you through four countries, Holland, Germany, Austria and Hungary, and along three great rivers, the Rhine, Main and Danube. Discover the diverse cultural heritage, vineyard-rich landscapes and medieval cities that have developed with the help of these historical rivers.

Experience the gems of Europe’s art, architecture and culture
From the stunning, exotic beauty of Budapest, “Queen of the Danube,” to music-rich Vienna, “City of Waltzes,” to the soaring spires of Cologne’s Cathedral – there are incomparable sights on this trip you won’t want to miss. Sail through Austria’s lush Wachau Valley and indulge in the famous wines of the region. Cruise through the spectacular 106-mile Main-Danube Canal, an engineering marvel, en route from the romantic Danube to the meandering Main River. Travel the Rhine, where you’ll find yourself transfixed like artists, composers and poets of the past, as you see fairy tale castles and sloping vineyards, and hear the river’s legends. Step back in time as you walk through the cobblestone streets of medieval cities – Regensburg, Nuremberg and Bamberg – to name just a few. Listen to grand sounds from the largest pipe organ in Europe while in Passau, and taste the fabulous Franconian wines while at the historical Würzburg Residenz wine cellar. Savor all the majestic beauty and mystique of a European Jewels Grand River Cruise.

Who will enjoy this cruise: Architectural fans will be enthralled with a grand collection of medieval and modern, and gothic and baroque buildings. Budding photographers can capture on film an endless parade of scenic beauty and historic splendor. Anyone who is looking for a bit of whimsy will be tickled by the fairy tale villages and enchanting castles along the Rhine. And those looking to taste some of the finest wines from Austria and Germany will raise their glasses to this cruise.
