Day 1 - Hamburg / Embarkation
Board the lovely and luxurious MV Dresden, berthed in the heart of Hamburg – a glorious city of waterways and bridges.
MV Dresden – Meals D

Day 2 - Tangermunde
Tangermunde is an old Hanseatic town with a rich history. You’ll explore the historic city center to see marvelous examples of traditional German Gothic architecture, including beautifully detailed doorways. You also visit Town Hall and St. Stephen’s Church, famed for its ornately carved interior. Meals B,L,D

Day 3 - Magdeburg
You awake in beautiful Magdeburg, a city with a rich blend of modern buildings and medieval architecture. Your tour includes the Baroque City Hall and the famed 750 year-old Magdeburg Rider – one of the oldest equestrian statues in the world. Inside the 13th century Cathedral, you’ll see rich, artistic details like the tomb of Emperor Otto and an ancient crypt dating back to the 10th century. Meals B,L,D

Day 4 - Wittenberg
Today’s excursion follows “in the footsteps of Martin Luther”, the Protestant reformer who launched the Reformation in the early 16th century. You’ll visit the house where he lived and see the medieval church where he is said to have posted his 95 Theses. The original door, destroyed by fire in 1760, has been replaced by a magnificent door cast in bronze in 1858, overlaid with the original Latin version of Luther’s 95 Theses. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Meissen
Meissen Porcelain has been prized for centuries. On today’s visit to the workshop, you will see an incredible display of exquisite Meissen Porcelain produced by master craftsmen over the centuries. Continue to the Gothic cathedral and Albrecht Castle, which you can explore further at your own pace or relax and enjoy stunning views over the city and vineyard-laced landscapes. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Dresden/ Pillnitz Park
Dresden, the capital of Saxony, is fondly referred to as “Florence on the Elbe”. Your visit begins at the Blue Wonder Bridge with excellent views of the Eckberg, Lingner and Albrechtsberg Castles – perched on a hillside overlooking the scenic Elbe Valley. Your walking tour through the heart of Old Town is highlighted by the picturesque Theater Square, world-famous Semper Opera house and the inner courtyard of the stunning Zwinger Palace. At the Royal Mews, you’ll see the stunning Procession of Princes – 24,000 Meissen Porcelain tiles depicting a parade of 35 Saxon princes and kings. After lunch on board, you’ll enjoy an excursion to the delightful palaces of Pillnitz, built in the early 1700’s. The unusual Chinese pagoda and beautifully landscaped grounds of the palace reflect August the Strong’s fascination with the exotic. This setting is one of the earliest examples of Europe’s 18th century interest in the Far East. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Bad Schandau / Excursion to Prague
From the charming town of Bad Schandau, you’ll enjoy a full-day tour to the beautiful city of Prague, proclaimed by Goethe as the “jewel in the crown of the world”. After an orientation to the city, including Wenceslas Square, you’ll enjoy lunch and then continue on a guided walking tour. In the Castle District, you’ll visit the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral and see the beautiful Royal Palace. You’ll stroll along the picturesque, statue-lined Charles Bridge into the heart of the Old Town to see the 15th century Astronomical Clock. You return to the ship in time for dinner onboard.
