Itinerary

Day 1 - Munich Arrival
Arrive in Munich and overnight at the 5-star Kempinski Airport Hotel.

Day 2 - Munich / Tulcea Embarkation
Transfer to the airport for your included flight to Tulcea, where you board your luxurious Peter Deilmann ship.

Day 3 - Tulcea
Tulcea is the largest town at the mouth of the Danube Delta, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – testament to the unique ecology of this scenic region and important natural reserve. Explore Tulcea at your leisure. Meals B,L,D

Day 4 - Giurgiu / Bucharest Visit
Enjoy a full day excursion to Bucharest, Romania’s colorful capital. You’ll see the Patriarch’s Cathedral and Ceaucescu’s imposing Palace of the Republic. Romanian folk musicians will entertain as you relax over lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit an open-air museum with more than 300 traditional buildings from throughout Romania. Rejoin your ship in Oltenitza. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Sailing
Enjoy a day at leisure as you sail the magnificent Danube River. Relax on deck, or join the onboard program of entertaining and informative activities. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Turnu Severin / Iron Gate Gorge
Arriving in Turnu Severin, founded in 100 AD, you’ll visit the City Museum with its Roman artifacts followed by a tasting of Romanian wines. Then, sail out of Romania through the most breathtaking scenery along the Danube – the Iron Gate Gorge. Surrounded by the peaks of the Balkan and Carpathian Mountains, you’ll see the site of Emperor Trajan’s Bridge which spanned the Danube 2,000 years ago. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Belgrade
The capital of Serbia is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Your tour includes the Kalemegdan Fortress with its spacious grounds and ancient Turkish Hamam (traditional bath). Afterwards, see the Princess Ljubica Palace, the National Museum and St. Sava’s Cathedral, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world Meals B,L,D.

Day 8 - Mohacs / Pecs
Over 150 years of Ottoman rule has left its historical marks on the town of Pecs. Our tour visits Djami Mosque, now a church, whose green copper-covered cupola dominates the skyline. You’ll also see the intact medieval city walls, Town Hall and a Romanesque Cathedral. Meals B,L,D

Day 9 - Budapest
Discover one of the loveliest cities on the Danube on your visit to Fishermen’s Bastion and Castle Hill, with great views of the Chain Bridge, Danube Embankment and the impressive Parliament. Then see the 15th century St. Mathias Cathedral and Heroes’ Square. Meals B,L,D

Day 10 - Vienna
Enjoy two delightful days in Austria’s capital, with comprehensive sightseeing along the famed Ringstrasse. You’ll pass the Royal Spanish Riding School, Hofburg Palace, and see magnificent St. Stephen’s. Your Schonbrunn Palace tour reveals the breathtaking splendor of the 1400-room residence of the Habsburg emperors. Meals B,L,D

Day 12 - Melk
The Benedictine Abbey of Melk is one of the loveliest Baroque structures in Europe – with a commanding location atop a 180-foot promontory overlooking the Wachau Valley. You’ll enjoy an in-depth guided tour of the Abbey and its magnificent library containing many of the first editions of the printed books, as well as an opportunity to admire the famous Melk Cross. This evening, gather with your fellow guests for a gala Captain’s Farewell Dinner. Meals B,L,D
