Jianguo Hotel (Beijing , China)
The Jianguo Hotel in Beijing is the first
international hotel in China since 1982, and the
only garden hotel in Beijing. The hotel is
situated at the diplomatic quarter of Beijing,
but it is walking distance from the metro and
the Xiushui Market. All guest rooms have
air-conditioning, voicemail, telephone, cable
TV, and mini-bar. Other hotel amenities include
indoor heated pool, sauna, and fitness room.
Sofitel Hyland Hotel (Shanghai, China)
The Sofitel Hyland Hotel is in the center of the
commercial district of Shanghai close to
regional shopping, on Nanjing Road. All 401

Day 1 - Beijing
Check-in to your deluxe hotel in the city

Day 2 - Beijing
Begin in Tiananmen Square with an
unforgettable experience: Kite flying in this
vast public plaza with the guidance of a master
kite maker. Then enter the sprawling Forbidden
City, legendary residence of Ming Dynasty
emperors. Boarding rickshaws, you’ll explore a
Hutong, one of Beijing’s old settlements, and
meet with a resident family. Meals B,L
Day 3 - Beijing
Walk along the Great Wall, that ancient
fortification that stretches for thousands of
miles, before visiting the Ming Tombs, burial
site of 13 Chinese emperors. Meals B,L
Day 4 - Beijing / Yichang
Visit the Pandas at the Beijing Zoo before
touring the pavilions of the Summer Palace. En
route to the airport, you’ll see stunning 2008
Olympic venues. Fly to Yichang to board the
deluxe Victoria Katarina for a 4-night cruise up
the legendary Yangtze.

Day 5 - Cruising / Three Gorges Dam
This morning, visit the Three Gorges Dam
Site before entering the 5-stage ship locks of
the dam itself. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - Cruising / Shennong Stream / Three
Gorges
Disembark on small boats to journey up
Shennong Stream, one of the most scenic of the
Yangtze’s tributaries. Our cruise continues
through the dramatic Wu Gorge, and Qutang Gorge,
the narrowest and most spectacular of the Three
Gorges. Meals B,L,D
Day 7 - Cruising / Fengdu
Today’s excursion explores the famous “Ghost
City” of Fengdu. Numerous temples, some dating
to the 14th century, feature fantastic carvings
and depictions of spirits and beings from the
“Underworld” of Chinese mythologies. Meals B,L,D
Day 8 - Arrive Chongqing / Fly to Xian
A brief tour includes the Panda Hall at the
Chongqing Zoo before flying to Xian, the ancient
capital of China, for 13 dynasties, and check-in
to your deluxe hotel.

Day 9 - Xian
The Terra Cotta Warriors is China’s most
important archaeological site. Today, you visit
the excavation site where thousands of
life-sized terra cotta warriors and horses have
been uncovered. Later, we’ve arranged for you to
Touch Antiquity – an opportunity to handle and
examine recently excavated relics. Meals B,L
Day 10 - Xian / Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai and travel from the airport
to downtown via the city’s ultra-modern Mag-Lev
Train, the world’s fastest. Our deluxe hotel is
right on famous Nanjing Road in the city center.
