SHANGHAI TO BEIJING - 18 DAYS
DAY 1: Depart Home Gateway City to Shanghai
DAY 2: Shanghai
Arrive in Shanghai and be greeted by a
Uniworld representative who will escort you to
your hotel.
DAY 3: Shanghai
Featured Excursion: Shanghai city tour and
acrobatic performance
Visit the famous Bund waterfront promenade and
Old Town. See the tranquil Yu Yuan Gardens.
After lunch, visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
At night, see the famous Shanghai acrobats. (BB,

DAY 4: Shanghai to Tongli to Suzhou
Featured Excursion: Tongli and evening
cultural performance
Depart Shanghai for Tongli, a picturesque
collection of ancient bridges crossing
meandering rivers. After lunch, continue the
tour to Suzhou where you’ll enjoy an evening
performance of the Master of Fishing Nets. (BB,

DAY 5: Suzhou, Shanghai (embark), Cruising the
Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Garden of the Humble
Administrator and Embroidery Institute
Visit the exquisite Garden of the Humble
Administrator. Cruise along the city canal.
Learn about silk manufacturing at the Embroidery
Institute. Return to Shanghai and board your
Victoria Cruises ship. (BB, L, D)
DAY 6: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
and Confucian Temple
Today, you’ll visit the Mausoleum of Sun Yat-sen,
the founding father of the Republic of China.
You’ll also have time to browse the Qing
Dynasty-style bazaar and explore the Confucian

DAY 7: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Huangshan Mountain tour
Enjoy a full-day trip to Huangshan Mountain,
depending on weather and/or road conditions.

DAY 8: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Hubei Provincial Museum
The capital of Hubei Province, Wuhan, is a
fusion of three cities that span both banks of
the Yangtze. While here, you’ll visit the Hubei

DAY 9: Cruising the Yangtze River
Enjoy a full day cruising the majestic
Yangtze. (BB, L, D)
DAY 10: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Three Gorges Dam
Visit the Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest
hydroelectric power plant, and then traverse
through the Yangtze 5-stage ship locks. (BB, L,
D)
DAY 11: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Lesser Three Gorges, Wu
Gorge and Qutang Gorge
Board a riverboat and travel down the Daning
River, depending on water levels. Explore the
tranquil Lesser Three Gorges, Dragon Gate, Misty
Gorge and Emerald Gorge. Later in the day sail
through Wu Gorge. (BB, L, D)
DAY 12: Cruising the Yangtze River
Featured Excursion: Fengdu
Tour the temples on Mingshan Hill. Depending on
water levels, an alternative visit to Shibaozai
or Wanzhou will be made. (BB, L, Captain’s
Farewell Dinner)
DAY 13: Cruising the Yangtze River, Chongqing
(disembark), fly to Xi’an
Featured Excursion: Chongqing city tour
Enjoy your last day onboard the magnificent
Victoria Cruises ship cruising to Chongqing. If
time allows, we’ll visit the giant pandas at the
zoo. Fly to Xi’an and check into your hotel,

DAY 14: Xi'an
Featured Excursion: Terra Cotta Warriors,
Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Dumpling lunch, and Tang
Dynasty dinner and show
Spend an exciting day with a visit to the Terra
Cotta Warriors and the Big Wild Goose Pogoda.
Enjoy a savory dumpling lunch, but save room for
your Tang Dynasty dinner with cultural show.

DAY 15: Xi’an to Beijing
Featured Excursion: Summer Palace
Your first day in Beijing will be spent at the
Imperial Gardens and the Grand Summer Palace.

Featured Excursion: Forbidden City,
Tiananmen Square and Beijing Opera
Tour the Forbidden City and visit Tiananmen
Square. Ride in a rickshaw for a
behind-the-scenes tour of the Hutongs. And in

DAY 17: Beijing
Featured Excursion: The Great Wall, Ming
Tombs and Peking Duck dinner
A full-day journey takes you to the Great Wall.
Travel the Sacred Way, home to the remnants of
the Ming Tombs. Tonight feast on Peking Duck.

DAY 18: Beijing (depart)
Transfer to the airport for your return
flight home, or continue your tour with an
extension to Hong Kong. (BB)
