Day 2 - Beijing
Meet with a master kite maker and fly a kite
in Tiananmen Square. Explore the shaded
courtyards and palaces of the Forbidden City and
see the remarkable architecture of Beijing’s
Olympic venues en route to the Summer Palace.

Day 3 - Beijing
The Great Wall stretches for thousands of
miles north of Beijing. You’ll walk atop this
ancient fortification and then visit the Ming
Tombs, burial site of 13 Chinese emperors. Meals

Day 4 - Beijing / Xian
Climb aboard a rickshaw and explore a Hutong,
one of Beijing’s old settlements, before your
flight to Xian. This evening, enjoy a Dinner
Show featuring song and dance of the Tang

Day 5 - Xian: Touch Antiquity
The Terra Cotta Warriors – China’s greatest
archaeological discovery: thousands of
life-sized warriors buried 2,000 years ago to
guard the tomb of an emperor. At the Xian
Museum, join curators to Touch Antiquity – a
rare opportunity to handle ancient relics
thousands of years old. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - Xian / A FreeStyle Day in Chongqing
Visit the ancient city walls and then fly to
Chongqing where a FreeStyle afternoon offers you
a choice of prepaid touring:

Day 7 - Embark Victoria Prince / Cruising /
Fengdu
Following breakfast, you’ll board the
Victoria Prince. In the afternoon, your shore
excursion explores the “Ghost City” of Fengdu.
Numerous temples, some dating to the 14th
century, feature fantastic carvings and
depictions of spirits and beings from the
“Underworld” of Chinese mythologies. Victoria

Day 8 - Cruising / Three Gorges and Lesser
Gorges
Cruise through the most dramatic scenery of
the Yangtze. First is Qutang Gorge, the
narrowest and most spectacular of the Three
Gorges. Later, boats take you up the Daning
River through the Lesser Gorges, spectacular
canyons dotted with the sites of ancient hanging
coffins. Later, the ship cruises Wu Gorge,
passing by the famous Goddess Peak. During
dinner the ship is scheduled to enter the ship
locks of the Three Gorges Dam. Meals B,L,D
Day 9 - Cruising / Three Gorges Dam
This morning’s excursion visits the Three
Gorges Dam Site to learn about this
extraordinary engineering feat and its impact on
China and the 1.5 million people displaced by
the project. Meals B,L,D
Day 10 - Cruising / Wuhan
Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum to see a
collection of artifacts excavated from a
2,400-year-old tomb, including musical
instruments, lacquer ware, bronze vessels, and
gold and jade decorative objects. Meals B,L,D
Day 11 - Cruising / Mt. Huangshan
A full day excursion to Mt. Huangshan, the
most famous – and perhaps most beautiful – of
China’s legendary mountain peaks. A 10-minute
cable car ride ascends 3,800 feet to the summit.
Enjoy breathtaking vistas of ancient pine
forests, unusual stone formations and craggy
mountain peaks. (Jiuhuanshan, “Mountain of Nine
Lotuses,” may be substituted if weather and road
conditions do not permit travel to Huangshan).

Day 12 - Cruising / Nanjing
Nanjing traces its origins to 472 B.C., but
today it’s a vibrant and growing metropolis, the
capital of Jiangsu Province. Your full day tour
includes the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the
Confucius Temple, a holy shrine to this ancient
philosopher. Meals B,L,D
Day 13 - Arrive Shanghai
Disembark from the ship and transfer to your
award-winning luxury hotel. An afternoon tour
explores the Bund, followed by the 16th century
Yu Yuan Garden and the city bazaar. This
evening, thrill to the feats of Shanghai’s famed
Acrobats.

Day 14 - Shanghai
Today’s sightseeing begins in the Pudong
Financial Zone and then you’ll drive through the
historic French Concession to the Shanghai
Museum – the best in China. The afternoon is at
