Day 1: Depart home gateway city to Paris

Day 2: Paris Welcome to the "City of Lights"
Arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport where you'll be transferred to the ship. If you would like to have your first glimpse at Paris from above, you can take a tethered helium balloon ride at Parc Andre Citroen. The balloon will carry you to an altitude of 500 feet directly up from the park, and there you can enjoy unobstructed views of beautiful Paris.

Day 3: Les Andelys Follow in Richard the Lionheart's Footsteps
Featured Excursion: Follow in Richard the Lionheart's Footsteps with a hike to Château Gaillard.
Les Andelys, situated on the Seine River, was of considerable strategic importance during the Middle Ages, prompting one of the most legendary kings of England, King Richard the Lionheart, to build a fortified castle to protect the Duchy of Normandy from the French King Philip II in the 12th century. Pretend to be the mighty warrior and crusader, Richard the Lionheart, and climb to his stronghold and admire the remains of the impressive Château Gaillard that was completed in only one year by over 6,000 workers-which was quite a feat! (BB, L, Captain's Welcome Dinner)

Day 4: Rouen, Normandy Beaches A day you'll never forget
Featured Excursion: Full-day Normandy Beaches
Because of Normandy's proximity to the sea, it has been the site of many conflicts and battles, including the famous D-Day Invasion by the Allied forces during WWII. You will visit places that are haunting reminders of the Allies' hard fight for freedom. You'll have a chance to walk the beaches of Arromanches, also known as Gold Beach during the D-Day landings, where you'll still see the massive concrete blocks used for landing heavy military vehicles on the beach. You'll visit the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, the final resting place for nearly 10,000 servicemen who gave their lives during the Normandy campaign. This experience is one you and your family will always remember!

Day 5: Rouen Discover Rouen's famous history with Joan of Arc, the “Bishop and the horrible Gargoyle,” and the famous Clock tower
Featured Excursion: Walking tour of Rouen and tour of the town's famous Clock tower led by Narcisse Eugene Osmont, the former governor of the Clock tower
Arriving in Rouen, you'll travel back to the Middle Ages within this well-preserved city, where Joan of Arc was immortalized in 1431. Rouen is also known for its other famous citizens, such as Claude Monet and Gustave Flaubert as well as the legend of Rouen's horrible gargoyle, which you'll learn about on your guided walk through the city. While on your walk, you'll see what attracted them to the capital of Normandy beginning with the stunning Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame. This is the masterpiece painted so vividly by Impressionist painter Claude Monet. The cathedral contains the tomb of Richard the Lionheart; where his heart is eternally buried. Your guided walk ends at Vieux Marche, where there is a bronze cross to mark the site of Joan of Arc's punishment for her bold defiance. and You'll then have a chance to discover the history of time as you follow the Governor, Narcisse Eugene Osmont, for a behind the dials of the Gros Horloge Clock tower, a Renaissance clock tower built in the late 1300s, and still works today. After your tour, you can climb the 100 steps up to the belfry tower where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the entire town of Rouen and the beautiful cathedral.and Then before returning to the ship, take part in aand scavenger hunt to find chocolate candies called “Joan of Arc's tears” and (BB, L, D) and

Day 6: Caudebec, Honfleur The City of Painters and Inspiration
Featured Excursion: Visit to Honfleur with a boat ride under the Normandy Bridge
After crossing the majestic Normandy Bridge spanning the river delta, travel overland to Honfleur, the "City of Painters", which is a charming French harbor town recreated in numerous paintings by such artists as Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet. You'll be taken on a guided walking tour from the former smuggler's harbor of Vieux Bassin-the most frequently painted scene in Honfleur, where the fishing village backdrop is seemingly unchanged from over 500 years ago-through the pedestrian streets to St. Catherine's Church. Whether you are budding painter or experienced one, you are certain to be inspired by this quaint harbor town. Next, you'll have a chance to view this scenic area from a different perspective onboard a boat. You'll embark at the old port, and proceed through the lock towards the sea. Your ride will take you above the waves, in the Seine delta, until we reach the canopies of the gigantic Normandy bridge.and (BB, L, D)

Day 7: Vernon, Giverny Discover Monet's World through his Gardens
Featured Excursion: Monet's Giverny
Visit Monet's home in his beloved village of Giverny, where he lived for 43 years, until his death in 1926. You'll explore Monet's house, furnished as it was when the leader of the Impressionist school lived here, including his precious collection of Japanese engravings. Strolling through the gardens, you'll see the familiar Japanese bridge and water garden shaded by the weeping willows that so inspired this master's work. Watch the light play on the pond which is covered with the water lilies reproduced in Monet's numerous enchanting versions of The Nympheas (The Water Lilies) , and of course, you'll want to take lots of pictures of this famous scene. (BB, L, Captain's Farewell Dinner)

Day 8: Paris Up, up and away in the “City of Lights”
Featured Excursion: Paris panoramic city tour
Discover Paris, a city unlike any other, on your panoramic city tour. Your guide will take you up the grand boulevard Champs-Élysèes and past the Arc de Triomphe. You'll stop for a photo opportunity at the Eiffel Tower before continuing to Place Vendôme, Hôtel de Ville, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Latin Quarter. Then it's on to Les Invalides, the Louvre courtyard, and the Luxembourg Gardens, where you will see a slice of daily Parisian life-gentleman playing boules and children sailing boats on the glassy pond-as well as view Bartholdi's model for the Statue of Liberty. (BB, L, D)
